Finding Your Niche: Maintain Your Audience With Your Personality

July 30, 2020

People love stories. I’m a people, I should know. People also love back stories and it’s important for them to know a little bit about the person behind the blog they’re reading.

FINDING YOUR NICHE
When I started working with clients, it was important to outline the main topics I write about and research. When a client comes to me with an idea, I don’t want to disappoint and turn them down because of an unfamiliar topic. I don’t write blog posts about financial issues or dental care, for example. Listing your niche topics will help potential clients narrow down their search. Yes, this means you’ll lose out on being chosen for certain posts. Sometimes, that can be a good thing. Many bloggers have a lifestyle blog which encompasses so many topics, it might be difficult to list. If you have a lifestyle blog or you’re working on one, it’s still good to outline your categories.

MY NICHE TOPICS include my passions, my career (I still have a full-time job as a social worker), my interests, my hobbies, and topics I’m learning.
