About Me

HI THERE FELLOW PERSON!

I’m Jennifer, future award-winning writer with a passion for clever words and witty sarcasm. I’ve been writing since I was born, I won a Young Author award in second grade, and received several rejection letters from publishing agencies, so I’m definitely an expert in all things words! I also took copyediting classes at the University of California San Diego and went to grad school to pick up a masters degree (hair flip/bend and snap) so I’ve written a lot of papers in my day.

Questions, inquiries, positive comments and constructive criticism can be sent to hello@jpwrites.com and all discouraging comments and negativity can be sent to my spam account. Shanks!

“Commit your work to the Lord.” Proverbs 16:3

More about me? Well, if you insist…

πŸ”† I live in the woods with my handsome old man (hubs), squirmy goober (son), bears (doggies), and lots of squirrels (actual squirrels).

πŸ”† I collect sand. Mostly from the beach.

πŸ”† I love slow Sundays…who doesn’t?

πŸ”† I used to write poems and work on novels in class in high school and in college. Yes, I know I paid for those classes.

πŸ”† I genuinely love learning people’s stories.

πŸ”† I have a healthy obsession with horsies.

πŸ”† You know those people who proofread their texts before they send them? You know those people who cringe when they receive a text with a misspelled word or read a post with the wrong use of there, their, or they’re? I’m those people.

πŸ”† I’m a full-time foster care social worker and it’s way more than a job for me.

πŸ”† My blog focuses on my writing journey, helping others build their writing skills, blogging tips, proofreading, editing, syntax & semantics, fiction writing, grammar lessons (yup), and researching. I also go off on some tangents and have a personal section of my blog that includes posts about my faith, family, mental health, pregnancy, raising squirms (kiddos), parenting, gardening, and living in the woods. Side note, don’t pay too much attention to my gardening posts, I’m really bad at it! There may also be some random content about our 12-year-old doggo Panda Bear.

Articles or blog posts that are written on this website, jpwrites.com are my own. Every viewpoint, product review, and experience is from me, Jennifer Marie Poling. I believe in God and I believe Jesus Christ died for my sins. I love to share my words with others as a flawed fellow person in this wild world. Ooh baby, baby, it’s a wild world.
